Can green architecture increase blue collar jobs?

An in-depth analysis of the existing policy framework and workforce market of each city, establishing the ‘baseline’ condition in each region

The Blue Green Alliance is a national non-profit collaboration between the Sierra Club, and the United Steel Workers Union. The Blue Green Alliance first hired emersion DESIGN in 2009 to produce a white-paper study on the potential for “Green Jobs” in Cincinnati, Ohio. The report focused on the local government policies that could be put in place to promote and support Green Jobs in manufacturing industries. Based on the success of this work, the Blue Green Alliance returned to emersion DESIGN in 2010 and commissioned a second white paper study for the Dayton, Ohio region.
Each white-paper presents in-depth analysis of the existing policy framework and workforce market of each city, establishing the ‘baseline’ condition in each region. Building on this, the reports present clear, step-by-step proposals for local government and local non-profits to take in order to promote job growth and retention in ‘Green’ manufacturing.
