Winners will be announced at the gala this fall at the JACK Cincinnati Casino on September 10, 2019.

West Chester Fire Station: Rebuild Recommended

emersion DESIGN Civic Leader and project manager, Tim Wiley, recommends that West Chester's original space be razed and a new, larger station built on site. When making the decision to renovate or build, Wiley explained, “the numbers [were] so close that the advantages of new construction totally outweighed the renovation option.”

Cincinnati Magazine Highlight's Cincinnati's 2030 District

Check out Cincinnati Magazine’s article on our Cincinnati 2030 District! It provides a great overview of the formation of the district and interviews some of the early, local voices of the district. “When Ed Mazria, one of America’s most notable architects, presented data more than a decade ago showing that roughly 50 percent of a city’s greenhouse gas emissions come from buildings, not cars, buses, and trucks, well, the architectural world was turned upside down. ‘We are trained as architects to make our buildings a better place for the health and the safety of their occupants,’ notes Chad Edwards, a principal at emersion DESIGN. ‘So Ed’s presentation sent shock waves through our industry. We realized we had to fix this.’”
