emersion DESIGN was commissioned to provide design services for a new $2.0 million animal holding facility that will advance modern research and technologies. The new facility is a pre-engineered metal building with temperature-controlled storage areas, and two all gender restrooms. There is also 1,150 sf of covered outdoor stalls, a sealed concrete floor with a central trench drain, along with fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and a moisture resistant substrate. The ceiling is also moisture resistant. A mezzanine was included in the central storage area for mechanical/electrical/IT equipment.
