Cincinnati Public Radio is an award winning connector and builder of community in the Cincinnati region. emersion DESIGN is providing project management, programming, site evaluation, architectural, interiors, sustainability and structural engineering services for their new headquarters.
The 30,000 s.f. headquarters design houses state-of-the-art broadcast, performance, and production studios as well as offices and music library. The lobby is open to the public, featuring a coffee bar and the ability to host performances, lectures, panel discussions and other community events. As a nationally recognized provider of quality programming, exemplary studio technical performance as well as sound and vibration isolation are required. Because the station is also a 24/7/365 community and emergency resource, multiple redundancies are provided for broadcast signal paths, and layered security is integrated to be both welcoming and safe. An uninterruptible power supply system and emergency generation are also included.
An open public plaza extends Cincinnati Public Radio’s vitality and welcome to the street, with the capacity to support and compliment larger events and enliven the neighborhood.
