culinary arts & event center
The new Culinary Arts & Event Center is an exciting project for the Mt. Healthy School District. With the potential to form a future career path, students have the opportunity to cultivate culinary and soft skills such as collaboration, risk-taking, and resiliency in a hands-on, realistic environment. The addition to the high school responds to the district’s goals for the culinary program by providing a test kitchen, laboratory, and a banquet/event space, which also supports Mt. Healthy’s community partnerships.
The Culinary Arts Career Center is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art kitchen with a separate area dedicated to student desks/workspaces. The culinary lab area allows for flexibility, and areas for baking arts, butchery, chocolate, cured meats, smoked meats, vegan and vegetarian trends and ethnic variations. The space is sized for 16-20 student classes and holds all the equipment and functions that these classes will need.
The storage/utility area for the room includes a walk-in cooler/freezer and dry storage room facilitate the storage needs for the program. These have been sized to also accommodate catering functions to support the new event space.
