u.s. army aircraft operations hangar
As part of a 3-building project at U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona, this new two-bay fixed wing aircraft operations hangar accommodates scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, flight detachment administration and operations, maintenance support, tool and parts storage, and shop space. In addition to the latest tools and machines, the hangar also boasts the newest systems including fire alarm/mass notification, fire suppression, energy management controls, advanced communications network, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), electronic access control, Energy Monitoring Control Systems (EMCS) connection, and a protected distribution system (PDS). Infrastructure design encompasses a new taxiway and runway, a hangar access apron, personnel loading apron, and lighting for airfield pavements, along with comprehensive site and utility improvements.
The Yuma Hangar is designed for LEED Silver but security requirements prevent it from submission for formal certification.
