fire crash
rescue station
The Fire Crash Rescue Station supports the existing WPAFB Fire Department Station #1 (HQ) and Station #2 and was required to reduce response times to the south end of the runway. The new satellite station is a highly secure facility and is operated 24 hours, 7 days a week by up to 9 personnel. Design strategies included noise mitigation, high Sound Transmittance Class (STC) rated walls/windows/roof, hazardous waste separation from the living quarters, and a contaminate-free environment through constant positive pressure.
