The Rosenthal Education Center (the “REC”) is a 2,300 sf art education center at the heart of the museum. The REC features studio space, a flexible multi-media interactive space, and a welcome zone with multiple portable electronic tablets and provisions for future technology. The success of both free and paid programs led to the creation of additional Arts Education Classrooms in the 2024 Community Spaces project. Adjacent to the REC, the renovated first floor East Galleries adds a series of flexible spaces for art that complete the eastern circulation loop from the Great Hall through Alms and Adams Emery Halls. This provides clarity of movement through this part of the museum complex.
