training complex
The Advanced Training Complex (ATC) at the Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona is a full design project for the new Military Free Fall School (MFFS). The ATC is part of a master plan that also includes a new aircraft hangar and a ready building. The Advanced Training Complex supports the training of U.S. Special Operations personnel in advanced military free-fall operations and tactics. The complex includes company headquarters, general instruction spaces, an Airborne Equipment and Parachute Rigging Facility, a clinic and physical therapy space for injured trainees, and support spaces for students and instructors. This project follows Department of Defense principles for high performance and sustainable building requirements in accordance with federal laws and Executive Orders. Sustainable design features are government validated as LEED Silver but due to security requirements, are not formally submitted.
